And welcome to my Data Science Blog. Let me take a moment to introduce myself. I am a former Personal Trainer turned Digital Marketing Data Analyst.
I spent over a decade in the health and wellness space. I worked across the field as a medical assistant, wellness coach, personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and a triathlon coach.
After talking about health and fitness for the past 10 years I was feeling stale and uninspired. I was in desperate need of a new challenge. I still love fitness, nutrition, and triathlon, and I will always be happy to share my experiences and insights in those areas but in June of 2018 I decided it was time for a new adventure.
I wanted to do something where I felt challenged, where I could use my mind to make a difference. I had no idea what it would be, but I knew it would be in tech, then I was introduced to a field I had never heard of before, but would completely change everything, Data Science.
I had ZERO experience with coding, but I knew that I would have to learn. I decided on Python as my focus and got to work. Just 2 months later I found an amazing job at a digital marketing firm were they were impressed with my drive to learn and focus on data. I have been working as a digital analyst creating and optimizing PPC campaigns ever since. I love the challenge of interpreting the data to solve real problems for real businesses.
This is just the beginning, I am continuing my studies with learning machine learning models while finishing my bachelors in Computer Science. It is amazing what a difference time plus consistent effort can make. I found that fire again, and I am excited for what the future holds.
When I am not practicing my code, creating visualizations in Tableau or tackling datasets in Kaggle you can find me riding my bike in the mountains with my husband, teaching my two kids to code, swim, and cook, or running trails with my labradoodle.
Life is a journey and I hope you enjoy what I share along the way.
